We repair clocks for Volvo, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Saab. Earlier models appear to fail due to lack of lubrication and the need for cleaning, which often causes a fusible solder joint to overheat and open. Breaker points are often pitted, but continue to function. If we are unable to repair your clock we can install a quartz movement. (see below) Later cars have clocks with quality movements. If they fail it is usually one or more components on the circuit board. Clock Conversions to Quartz Movements We convert any clock — foreign or domestic. The appearance of the clock does not change, but most original internal parts are removed and replaced with a quartz movement and circuit board. The quartz movements that we use are the best available. Units contain stainless steel parts and are tightly sealed to keep out the finest dust or hair. The circuit boards are custom made in the United States. This conversion takes approximately two weeks.
